It's been a while, but we used to be regular users of Fashionspace which was an online showroom for new designers, as well as a swapshop for vintage, designer and second hand high street clothing. A cooler, slicker eBay if you will, purely for fashion and beauty items...not a knocked off mobile phone or imaginery ipod in sight! It also had a facebook-style profile feature where you could add friends, leave comments and upload images.
During our daily online search for Scottish designers and shops, we decided to search their database of thousands of members, ony to find, shock horror, that the site is no longer active. They didn't even bother to get in touch. Did our relationship mean nothing to them???
After we wiped away our tears, we realised that this may be an opportunity for the people behind Worn it Once who developed a similar concept that has, as yet, not experienced the success of the now defunct fashionspace. Founded by Emily Black, a fashion graduate from Glasgow wornitonce.com could be more user-friendly if it had a search function, seller profiles and a blog. Like fashionspace, they could also offer free listings for three months. This would definitely raise awareness and build up their member list. Aesthetically, the site needs updated, as the grainy imagery resembles something out of a fashion mag circa 1992.

So much potential, especially since eBay hiked up their seller fees to astronomical heights and let a monkey dictate the search results.
